After many years of drawing and painting, requests from friends and family have often lead to Graphic Design. I realized that most of the praise I have received over the years has been in connection with custom logos for new businesses and Designs for business cards, flyers, brochures, programs, invitations, and T-shirts.
Don't get me wrong, the artwork I have done has received much recognition as well, however, what people have repeatedly requested and paid me for is my Graphic Design work.
I once heard a public speaker advise a group of would-be entrepreneurs to "become so good at one thing that people would be willing to pay you for it." That made perfect sense to me. Ever since, I have searched for that one thing. I now believe that Graphic Design is it.
I have always been drawn to the advertising industry. I am fascinated with the ability to affect a persons' psyche and decision with mere words and imagery. Helping others to take the initiative to start or maintain a business by using my Design skills has nudged me into the realm of marketing research and the science of advertising. My aim now is to combine my experiences into one "thing": Advertising in the form of Clip Art. Designing Clip Art that can be use as advertising on social media platforms and in online shops, such as Etsy, is a goal that I believe to be attainable. With your help, I could finally be the successful artist I have long to be.
